The Client
Cafédirect was founded in 1991 by Oxfam, Traidcraft, Equal Exchange Trading, and Twin Trading in response to the 1989 global coffee price collapse. The aim was to ensure that coffee bean, cocoa, and tea growers received a larger share of the purchase price for their products.
In 1992, Cafédirect secured its first commercial contract with Co-op and Safeway stores in Scotland, marking the beginning of its journey towards becoming a trusted ethical brand in the coffee industry.
The Project
OH! Films worked closely with Cafédirect to create a powerful, comprehensive film that encapsulates the brand’s dedication to ethical sourcing and sustainability.
From the lush coffee plantations to the moment the coffee reaches the cup, our production follows the journey, illustrating Cafédirect’s commitment to quality, fair trade practices, and social responsibility. Through stunning visuals and thoughtful storytelling, we capture the brand’s deep impact on both local communities and the environment.
Our film aims to position Cafédirect as more than just a beverage—it’s a conscious, ethical choice that enriches every sip and supports a more sustainable future for coffee growers around the world.
